ANOTHER CRAZY BIFURCATION
we are witnessing in this
land of Telugus – now of the common High Court, without any adequate prior
arrangements and this despite the existence and validity of the A.P.
Reorganization Act 2014 according to which Hyderabad still remains the common
capital of both the States and so there is no urgency for the separation. As
this editor repeatedly pointed out earlier, the continuance of the common High
Court with suitable benches in the Andhra State would have been of great
benefit to the Telugu people in general, actually this should have been done in
the united Telugu State itself and that perhaps would have pacified to a great
extent the discontent among Telangana advocates too. But at that time, when
advocates in Guntur and Vizag were agitating for months together for separate
benches, the governments as well as Andhra region advocates in the High Court
turned a blind eye, the latter solely motivated by selfish interests, and well
now they are reaping a bitter consequence in one way. The regional chauvinists
in Telangana are jubilant, for no reason at all, because except for a few Judge
posts to the favored by the government and establishment the majority of them
are not going to reap any additional benefits but may be additional
disadvantages even might ensue, and their champion chief minister, having
entered into a secret deal with the ruling party at the centre, is jubilant
too. On the other side, the selfish AP CM bungled again, having submitted an
affidavit to the Supreme Court that a separate building for AP High Court would
be ready by 15 December itself, fully knowing it would not so happen, solely
for his political advantage to boast in the forthcoming elections propaganda.
And a crazy notification issued from the President’s office dividing the two as
if by a razor cut and ordaining everything be done in 5 days or so, and in any
case the respective Judges to take oaths at the respective Courts in the
respective regions by the stroke of midnight if possible! Not just the AP Government but the Telangana and
Central Governments, even the High Court and the Supreme Court, do not have the
minimum sense that such large scale shifting should not take place in the midst
of an academic year. High level bureaucrats and Judges have all facilities at
all times at public cost; but it is the middle and lower class staff, common
advocates and their families and also clients that suffer. What can we do? –
this is the real face of our much boasted socialist democracy! §§§
